This model has a top-speed limiter allowing it to reach 186 mph. It has a 6.0-liter V12 that produces 450 horsepower and 412 pound-feet of torque. A smooth engine is capable of pushing the DB9 to 60 mph under 5 seconds. Its braking power is equally impressive with massive four-piston brake calipers with gripping grooved rotors. It changes direction easily and responds smartly with steering and braking inputs. There are definitely faster cars on the market, but this car has enough performance in the right spots. When matched with its stunning design, it’s definitely a contender for that “wow” statement you have been looking for.
Within the DB9 is a high tech backbone that utilizes a unique lightweight aluminum-bonded frame with the aluminum/composite bodywork. It’s the first convertible ever to use Aston Martin's unique VH Platform (Vertical/Horizontal), and the first to be built at the newly opened Aston Martin Gaydon facility. Aston Martin claims this to be the most structurally efficient design and does a remarkable job in keeping the curb weight in check, as it weighs in at just over 4,000 pounds. Designers have put a ton of work into making sure it's not just a Coupe with the top taken off.
The convertible top is operated electronically at the push of a button. It folds back behind a clean looking hard tonneau cover within 17 seconds. When the top is down it has a clean convertible look with no trace of the top. What better car to cruise the strip than a DB9 with the top down on a warm summer night. The 2007 Aston Martin DB9 comes chock full of safety features. Of major significance for a convertible are the two-roll hoops that are deployed from the rear seat headrests in the event of a rollover. It also comes with antilock disc brakes with brake assist. Other safety features include a stability control system, front-seat airbags, traction control, and a tire-pressure monitor. Rear parking sensors will help you park this classy car ding free.
