2009 Nissan GT-R
Twin Turbo Supercar!! | 0-60 in 3.3 seconds | Like New | Low Miles
This GT-R was one of the most highly anticipated new performance cars for 2009. It’s based on an entirely new concept that brings supercar performance without the price tag. Intended to compete with the pinnacle of performance bargains, the Corvette Z06, the GT-R offers heart pounding boosts of adrenaline at every turn.
The 2009 Nissan GT-R is unquestionably one of the best performance cars ever.
The 2009 Nissan GT-R is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that generates 473 hp and 434 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed dual-clutch automatic-manual transmission puts all this power to the ground through an advanced all-wheel-drive system.
The GT-R can take you to 60 mph in a drama-free 3.3 seconds.
“The sense of true high performance and function, superb aerodynamic performance and ultimate dedication to good design make the new Nissan GT-R almost intimidating relative to other sports cars. It expresses an originality found in no other, stands out as one of a kind, breaks through established ideas of what a sports car should be, and rises to the challenge of creating a new world of sports cars. Product Chief Designer, Hiroshi Hasegawa.” (http://www.gtrnissan.com)
One major distinction you’ll see with this car is that it’s on an all wheel drive platform. Nissan designed this car to outperform the competition not just in dry driving conditions by professionals, but also in any condition through a superbly handling car. The all wheel drive system allows this car to perform tremendously on various conditions while maximizing traction and control. A computer analyzes various performance parameters such as available traction, steering angle, vehicle speed, etc. It then adjusts the front-to-rear torque split accordingly. The torque split is reassessed and adjusted by the onboard computers and varies between 50 percent front/50 percent rear to 100 percent rear-wheel drive. It has three settings "R" for race, a normal mode, and a mode for snow. The result of this is a car with traction you would not have thought possible. It car can outperform whatever you can throw at it!
The transmission can operate in fully automatic mode or by using the shift paddles mounted on the steering wheel for a sportier and controlled feel. Nissan promises "F1 gearshift speeds," with downshifts assisted by synchronized, rev-controlled throttle blips to match engine and transmission speeds to further increase shift speed. The launch control system will help you maximize rpm by engaging the twin turbos prior to take off.
The driver adjustable suspension operates in three damping modes: "R" for "Race," "S" for "Sports" and "C" for "Comfort." There is also similiar center consule push button adjustment for traction control. It comes with Six-piston Brembo calipers in the front and four-piston versions in the rear.
Braking promises cornering with surgical precision.
It comes standard with 20-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights, a rear spoiler, leather/cloth upholstery, power front seats, aluminum-trimmed pedals, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, Bluetooth, keyless entry/start, automatic climate control, XM Satellite Radio, a multifunction driver-configurable information monitor, an in-dash Compact Flash card reader and a navigation system with a 30-gigabyte hard drive, 9.4 gigabytes of which can be used for audio storage.
This GT-R was upgraded with the premium package that includes higher-performance tires, an 11-speaker Bose audio system with two subwoofers, heated front seats, front passenger side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags.
“I believe it creates a completely new car genre. It inherits the DNA of past great GT-Rs and packs it with the very latest and best technology. The key factors are the utilization of the earth's natural forces and the high technology for human-machine interface, developed to control the ultimate performance. Our objective was to create a flagship model to promote our technology but also to develop a new type of supercar. Supercars have traditionally been aimed at drivers with advanced skills. But our new "multi-performance supercar" can be driven fast and skillfully by just about anybody in just about any road condition.” says Kazutoshi Mizuno, chief vehicle engineer and chief product specialist for the Nissan GT-R, and former racing team director and racing chief engineer for Nissan.
